Caroline Curfs and Marc Thiry from HZG at EARIV Stand at the Materials Week 2017

The Materials Week is a biannual event organised by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Materialkunde (DGM), which brings together the german materials science community. In a three-day’s conference accompanied with several sattelite meetings and a parallel exhibition which enables companies and research institutions to present their services in the fiels of instrumentation and materials research to more than 1200 participants.

Under coordination of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht, the EU Horizon2020 projects CALIPSOplus, SINE2020, NFFA and BalticTRAM joined for a stand under the motto „*European Analytical Research Infrastructure Village*“ (EARIV) to present possibilities for materials researchers to cooperate with and make use of European light sources and neutron facilities.
Methods such as residual stress measurement or tomography were introduced to both academic and industrial visitors at the stand and the participating projects were presented during the exhibitor presentation session.

A poster about „Innovative materials analysis with synchrotron radiation and neutrons“ was awarded by the audience and a jury with the third prize in the poster contest.
