Sustainability report for SINE2020
Within the SINE2020 General Assembly in Parma, Martin Böhm suggested in the SINE2020 board meeting to prepare a sustainability report until the end of the project. In this report we intend to evaluate tasks of SINE with a clear added value for the neutron community beyond the life time of the SINE program. We keep you updated!
Next generation pressure cells for neutron and muon research
Work package sample environment: Task completed! The design of a new piston-cylinder-type hybrid pressure cell for µSR (muon-spin rotation/relaxation). With the SINE2020 funding, we have employed a post-doc and gathered experts in high-pressure and µSR techniques with the aim to solve a number of issues encountered with existing piston-type cells used on µSR instruments at PSI.

NEW templates for SINE2020
Please note that we updated the SINE2020 templates according to the requests from the European Comission. Please make sure that you all use these templates in future.
All European projects shall use the European emblem (flag) to acknowledge the support received under EU programmes AND be associated to a sentence:
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 654000.

Materials Research for Energy-efficient Magnetic Cooling
Examining the Inverse Magnetocaloric Effect Using Neutrons
Jülich scientist Nikolaos Biniskos together with his colleagues in a Franco-German research team has gained new insights into the inverse magnetocaloric effect with the help of neutron scattering studies. The results could be useful in the search for suitable magnetocaloric materials for energy-efficient heating and cooling systems.
